Abstract: This presentation by Bosch and EPAM is about applying AI/ML methodologies for a solution in a shop floor manufacturing line to further enhance production quality. The talk will focus on how to select and define a correct hypothesis, putting data first and how AI and ML technologies can be utilised for early detection of potential manufacturing quality issues downstream. Tailored models were implemented to recognise patterns of scrapped parts while considering data gathered by the manufacturing process as an input. This helped to derive control measures and establish a more efficient and rapid serial manufacturing process.

Abstract: Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) generate electricity and heat decentrally in a climate-friendly and sustainable way. These AIoT devices continuously capture and leverage data throughout their lifecycle, enabling data-driven design, manufacturing, optimized operations, and smart service offerings. In this presentation, we will share our experience and insights in building a modern Analytics Data Platform that seamlessly integrates with the digital twin architecture to empower data-driven approaches in the SOFC product lifecycle. Additionally, we will demonstrate how we use lifecycle data for state-of-health modeling and enrich our digital twins to optimize the performance and lifetime of SOFC systems.
